It's all bollocks, Joe Hart is an England regular and a Prem starter but even with 'English' tax and bear in mind he's probably got as many years still left in him as Walker we can't nail £40m or so. In fact nowhere near.

My opinion is chuck £30m (it's all Monopoly money to you and me anyway) down with a few add-ons...CL etc. If the baldy one doesn't like it, leave him high and dry with an unhappy player.

Walker is younger, not a goalkeeper, hasn't been sent off to Italy, and is still welcome back at his club. Apples to oranges.

Joe isnt a prem starter though. He is surplus to requirements hence we have no "hand".

We want Walker. Spurs would be happy to keep him. We are moneybags City. He is Daniel Levy. It is going to be procrastinated beyond belief.

I don't think anyone said that much. I think the consensus is that 40m to 45m for a home grown international is high but if Pep wants him it is not too high

Just smackes of Levy trying it on a bit. I'm no Joe Hart fan boy (apart from over Bravo) but the figures being discussed are a disgrace.

50 million for a 27 year old who is an 8/10 player - 15 million more than has ever been paid for a full back and who wants to come North - no chance. He is worth 30 to 40 tops.

Age is probably the least important factor here. If Hart was still our number one and a larger club was trying to sign him after he had just signed a new contract we'd probably be able to get 25-30m off of them. If he wasn't a keeper add 5-10 more. BUT he's not in form, he's shut out of our club, and everyone knows it. We are actively trying to get rid of him, which is in contrast to a situation where Spurs know we want Walker and only him. Our only real negotiation ploy is to go after someone else and if we have a deal lined up with Walker himself already that is probably not going to happen. This all reeks of the Sterling deal and it'll be something like 45m plus 5m in add-ons I'm sure.
