The irony in selling your best right back whilst saying "Spurs don't need to sell their best players". Top clubs don't sell their best players ever. Falling out or no falling out. Especially not one as innocuous as the Poch/Walker one. The fact is you want the money because you're a selling club, Walker wants to move back up north, his agent told Spurs that months ago, so Poch began the dance of easing him out of the team so that supporters like you could say "manager didn't want him".

I can't wait for the first game when Trippier comes up against decent opposition and the Spurs fans realise what a mistake they've made, thinking he's actually a like for like replacement.

Hopefully we'll see Sané up against him.

It seems I am the only one who thinks Dani Alves & Pablo Maffeo can take care of the RB position !

I'm not claiming that Walker doesn't want to go.

I'm saying that Spurs don't NEED to sell their best players. Nothing ironic in that. There were a lot of stories circulating on Spurs forums last season about Poch being displeased with Walker over a number of issues. Way before there was any talk of him leaving or City being interested.

And while no Spurs fan wants to see Walker leave - because he is a very good right back - Poch is all about the team. He will not allow anything to disrupt its harmony. That is why he is happy to allow Walker to leave.

I don't think any Spurs fan believes that.

Trippier is an excellent back up. Superb crosser of the ball. But not as good defensively and nothing like the athlete that Walker is. Assuming Walker leaves, another right back will be bought. Long term, Kyle Walker Peters looks to be an outstanding prospect from the academy to become first choice in that position.

Walker will be a tremendous signing him and Alves will sort that side out , potentially Sterling and Sanchez in front .Jesus it's going to one hell of a season

You have a replacement called Kyle Walker Peters. Mind blown

Spurs don't really need the money. They have to pay off 450m. Once the sponsorship deals and TV money kicks in it won't be that much of a struggle at all.

Out of our starting eleven if I had to sell one or two players it would be Dier and Walker. Trippier isn't as good obviously but a decent back up and Kyle Walker Peters there too. Ponch has fallen out with Walker so it makes sense to sell

I dunno why people are complaining of a potential fee. When the two Manchester clubs make huge bids for players paying over the odds, you can't blame Levy wanting a huge fee for a player who is the best full back with 4 years left on his contract.

With this weeks fees for average players have gone sky high Levy will be wanting a bit more on top. I'm still thinking 40m with some add-ons going way over 45m. Us fans don't see it anyway so it's not really important
