Kyle Walker

Thought he looked ok going forward last night but was poor at the defensive side of things which pretty much sums him up as a player for me. He will fit in well with the majority of our squad who also don't seem to have any great talent at the defensive side of the game. Think it is very likely we will be signing him.

Walker's arguably the best RB in the league. He's strong, fast, positionally excellent, and can cross a ball. I appreciate last night wasn't his best game but it's a fools errand judging a player on one game.

I don't think his defending has ever been brilliant and he's showing that he still has that lapse in concentration that can punish you.

I agree re all his other attributes and he'll definitely improve us. However, there's no point in overrating the guy. His speed basically saves him in the majority of situations.

This.

I really struggle to see past the fact that the guy is a grade A bellend, who doesn't deserve to be playing for a great club like ours.

I'd rather go for Trippier if we want a RB from Spurs - a guy who has City running through his veins.

Pep has always said he is ready to learn and that's exactly what he came to England to do. He has realised you need big fast and strong players like Walker to succeed over here and that's why we are signing him.

Great player

TBH, I don't think i'm overrating by saying he's arguably the best RB in the league. I think he is, and I think the fact that Pep wants him is probably a testament to that. In terms of his defending, I don't really know how you judge this, but Spurs biggest strength the last couple of seasons has been their defence and he's played nearly every league game for them during that time. I appreciate he isn't the perfect player, but then those are pretty thin on the ground, but he's absolutely the sort of player we should be signing. Personally I think he'll be a revelation under Guardiola.

I'm not judging him on one match, I've seen him play loads of times. He's okayish defensively but very decent going forward, that is my general opinion of him. I suspect that is probably what we want in our full backs anyway. I think Rose is the better of the two but I doubt Rose is available so I assume we will get Walker who will be adequate and certainly an improvement on what we have at right back and we will need to find a left back elsewhere.

He's improved a lot defensively over the past two years, pace is certainly one if his biggest attributes but it's also vital for a Pep side. This is a deal that will be done.
