is it just the fee holding it up now mate?

Nothing's holding anything up TBH. We're two and a half weeks from players reporting back for preseason training so we have that time to complete all our deals. If we're still having conversations about key incomings 1st of August we can start talking about hold ups. For the moment everything is cool. Pep is apparently very happy with the work that's been done in the market this summer.

good stuff. I think a lot of us blues are more desperate for the fullback situation to finally be fixed! lol

Is that because of the possibility or acquiring Sandro and having Kolarov as back up? Or because Mendy/Bertrand may not get done?

Nah, just having Kola as back up. We aren't in for Sandro. That story is being pushed by his agent who wants the biggest deal possible out of PSG or Chelsea.

Why do these agents bother with these tricks. Clubs must know who they have bids for and who is talking to their players/agents.

It's just the nature of the beasts. Everyone justifies their own existence in football whatever way they can. One way that agents do it is by using the media to make their players seem more wanted/popular than they are.

It's like Ronaldo's being 'unhappy' or Lewandowski being 'unhappy'. Both those players aren't being sold they know that. But their agents will tout them around, get the press to write stories as it keeps their clients profiles very high even in a summer where they're not moving.

Maybe in panics fans and clubs get forced to hurry the bids along.

They probably wouldn't do them if they didn't work.
Costs nothing though. Just a few passing comments to hungry jounalists eager for copy. Journalists might know it's rubbish too but they can create a legitimate sourced story on the back of it. But the well managed clubs will know
