Are people seriously jumping to Levy's defence? Haha only on bluemoon. "Oi fackin lay orf Levy. He's a great guy he's just thrifty!"

Don't know why we're comparing them in the first place given one is a fullback and the other is a striker but seeing as we are, we can't use the lowest figure for walker and the highest figure with add on's for Lukaku to make it sound better. The fee going around is £55 million + add on's and seeing as we don't know how much the add on's are worth we can only compare it to the £75 million base figure for Lukaku.

as for what we're getting, I have no issues with most of them but 3 of those points are very questionable. Firstly, I wouldn't class him as young seeing as he's 27 and fullbacks tend to drop off quite early, particularly ones that rely so heavily on pace as walker does.

Secondly, when has he ever played DM? there's nothing in his game that suggests he could play there either, lacks the technical skill, positional sense, brains and composure to play there and under utilises his main asset which is his pace. I'll put money on him never ever playing in that position for us.

And the final point, does he really weaken them that much? If he did they simply wouldn't sell him. They obviously prefer Trippier (as do i personally) and feel he's the better bet going forward, so losing a replacement right back isn't weakening the squad all that much, particularly when you're getting £55 million + for him in a time when money might be tight for them with the new stadium to pay for.

Literally no one is saying 55m + add ons that's complete bullshit.

They also don't prefer Trippier, that is also bullshit. Trippier by the way has played 1,000 minutes of league football in the last 2 seasons compared to Walker's 5,600, and most of that came after Walker told them he was leaving and they had a little spat. "Prefers Trippier" hilarious.

Trippier is as close to a Walker replacement as Ibe was a Sterling replacement, hence why Spurs have lined up 30m for Perreira so they never need to worry about how badly things would go relying on Trippier as first choice.

Kyle Walker had better get used to being England's 3rd/4th choice right back in the coming months

Any time you think we are overpaying just think "Swansea want £50mil for Sigurdsson" and "Watford were quoting £30mil for Deeney", then you find everything seems much happier in life.

Who has mentioned we don`t have a budget. You`re the only person that keeps on rabbiting that by paying £15M over the odds it must have an impact on future transfers. You must seriously be deluded if you think that.

Apart from that City are not the council who see their budget as a target to spend rather than a maximum to achieve objectives,
I'm sure that if any extra cash was needed permission to use it would have been required.

It is an overpriced deal but it is necessary signing and it isn't a completely ridiculous fee. Good luck to him, and hopefully he can adapt to life at City.

this made me laugh: Previous Englishmen have struggled at the Etihad, including the likes of Jack Rodwell, Scott Sinclair and Fabian Delph ....

Two of them Were sick notes and Sinclair was simply a mistake.

Yep. Sterling, Barry, Lescott, Richards, Hart et al disagree.
