I’ve been thinking and it seems we have a ceiling of 2025 of contract for older players. Kev has one till 2025 he will be 34 then. We proposed a 2 year deal to gundo till 2025 he would’ve also been 34 as well. Kyle Walker extension till 2025 from reports, he would be 35 then. Mahrez is 32 and his current contract also expires at 2025 m, he would’ve been 34 at the end of the contract had he decided to stay.

It’s clear to say that in the macro sense there is a planned phaseout of the senior 30+ players in 2025.

Although, I think every time Pep signs an extension he thinks it’s the last one.

Hence we need to get the next generation of world stars in now to keep Pep challenging himself and building new teams? Gvardiol, Wirtz, Cherki etc will keep his juices flowing

I watched a lot of Kounde when we were rumoured to be looking at him a few seasons back. I can't remember a match where he didn't concede a penalty or drop some sort of bollock. Not for me I'm afraid.
