It is possible also that both sets of media have milked him and his silence till the end of the season to stir up interest in their own running sagas. Probably a bit of both.

It’s also possible he fears for his safety in France for a while if he leaves, so wants to announce he’s going after the PSG game and bounce abroad immediately?
 
Apparently money was never the factor for him but as soon as he was offered over €4.5m a month (or was it a week), he started having doubts about moving.
