Kylian Mbappé | Real Madrid Player (pg620)

"He's a coach who lives and breathes football," he said. "He has won everywhere and he transmits his passion, he really gives you a desire to play, to just think about the game, because he only talks about the game. He doesn't talk at all about what happens around it.

"Coach Emery also talks a lot about the game. I love coaches who only talk about the game, because that is what interests us. Those two coaches have a passion for football that goes above and beyond their profession. It's good to work with people like that.

"When I saw him, we talked tactical setups, the way in which he would use me. We talked more about that than my qualities, because I know myself better than anyone. Even Guardiola can't tell me what I already know. I didn't say 'no' to Guardiola, I said 'no' to Manchester City."

Thanks mate.As I said to BABs I have never seen that quote before.

Ha ha ha
Tell that to Simon Mullock Martin Blackburn and Sam Lee because they keep reporting that we are
Come on please. Out of the three I quite like Sam, but even he isn't the oracle of all knowledge by his own admission. The answer on mbappe lieslwithin the current squad members still here and how we seem to be agonisingly conducting buisness. At the rate city move with transfers we'd have the lad signed in 2031. Plus there simply is no room for him with the way we set up. Jesus and kun have that game time through the middle locked up.

Expand on what's weird? Have you ever seen a club dish out 150 mil plus for a player, to let him walk away on a free because he gave you 5 years of the beautiful game. Answer to your question. Till I die.
What a ridiculous argument. If we sign someone as big as that our worldwide standings amongst the elite will go through the roof with money pouring in from everywhere.A 5 year contract equates to only £30M a season and what possesses you to think he walks away a free agent.
Something doesn`t sit right.

Not saying we should buy him but, why would he walk on a free?
Why did miller? Money. No what I'm saying is that I half agree with Babs, in that I'd like to think when they come if they like their football they will stay . But if they don't any club wants to be assured there gonna at least make their money back. You buy someone for 200 mill at 20, it's hard to see a buyer who will provide us with profit on a sale.

Nah you've got me wrong somewhere, I actually agree with u to an extent. My post was in response to something slightly different from what your saying.

What I was trying to say to an earlier post was that I think when city are recruiting, it will be more than just a footballing decision, balancing the books and any future profit are bound to be potentially factored into their work on deals.

And that was my point,Many years ago when Keegan moved from Munich to Newcastle,it was always stated that Newcastle Brewery was behind his transfer and they were paying his salary.Pity that can`t be used nowadays.
A transfer cap is bound to happen in my opinion sooner than later,so we could lose a lot of cash from that. However and this was my point, revenues from other sources would make the "deal" (transfer fee) seem something that was pretty average, compared to what the actual return could be.

Finally u need to think hard and again if you think key players aren't capable of running down or threatening to run down contracts no matter what their on to get what they want. Consider what Sanchez did to Arsenal and tevez did to us. That's me off. Cheers guys.

We had multiple opportunities to sign him. Sadly, he is now an impossible target. PSG won’t sell and they certainly won’t sell to us. The current player acquisition strategy precludes the possibility of signing such highly sought after targets. It seems that the club simply won’t pay the necessary wages or associated fees anymore. With Aguero and David Silva seeing out their contract in two years, we’re going to have one hell of a job replacing them.

We have Bernardo and Foden for Dave. With Jesus here and already hitting great goal numbers it'll be less a case of replacing Aguero and more a case of doing our scouting and bringing in a 17/18/19 year old that's got sky high potential and is ready for first team game time when needed (as we have recently done with Nacho and Jesus) if we can't find one we've got buy back clauses on Nacho and Unal and one should be at the level required. No need for stress.
