Spot on.We had multiple opportunities to sign him. Sadly, he is now an impossible target. PSG won’t sell and they certainly won’t sell to us. The current player acquisition strategy precludes the possibility of signing such highly sought after targets. It seems that the club simply won’t pay the necessary wages or associated fees anymore. With Aguero and David Silva seeing out their contract in two years, we’re going to have one hell of a job replacing them.

Still find it somewhat strange Monaco sold to PSG in such a friendly manner. They had just won the league and basically gave it up even though PSG could not afford to pay.
For us if we where to get him as I understood his wages would be around 250K and would be on par with the likes of KDB, Aguero, Silva etc.
We pay our highly rated youngsters such as Sane, B.Silva, Jesus quite a bit less and so giving Mpabbe that money could well have caused unrest.
In retrospect he would have been worth it and I wish we had. However, I understand the decision the club made.
I’m sure the club have a registered interest and any chance represents itself we will pursue. However, I fully expect PSG to keep him for a long time and any move would be Real or Barca.
