In a perfect world to keep harmony in the finances, Mbappe would come this summer, say £140m, Aguero leaves next summer for £50m at 30, Sanchez walks in for free, then a few years later you sell Sanchez for a fee after snapping up another young talent.

This.. If Madrid got him would they get rid of Ronaldo ??? course not, so why do many on here think we would get rid of our best striker.. madness.

That gives us an extra £70m per year to play with now at the minimum.

That's £350m amortised over five years.

I hope you are right Ric. Neither of Mbappe or Sanchez would justify City letting Kun go, and although I know we have been reassured that he will not be sold, I doubt that means anything to Pep. Some things transcend the desire for new players, and Kun is part of our club's fabric. And how the hell I would tell my 8 year old, who has had Kun on every City shirt he has had in the last 5 years??

Mbappe and Alexis are more flexible players though, and I think that suits Pep. Both can play as a striker or through the wings whereas Kun can only really play up top (though I'd argue he's the best of all of them in that position).

The added flexibility would allow us to swap the front 3s positions around during a game which would be terrifying for defenders. At the moment, an opposition CB knows that Kun's in the line up then he has to deal with Kun (which admittedly, isn't easy). If our front 3 was Jesus, Mbappe and Alexis, he doesn't know which one he'll be up against at any point in the match.
 
I have no idea whether we'll get him or not but would be good to net him if whilst we can. as someone said loan him back till we really need him. should we get sanchez we would have plenty up top,
 
People are seriously 0verthinking the Aguero/too many players angle. Pep is thinking and planning in a post Aguero world. Once you understand that lens, being so keen on Mbappe makes a lot of sense.
 
Wouldn't Pep just deny the Mbappe rumours if we were definitely not signing him? To say "anything can happen" doesn't sound like someone who is out of the running.
 
What is Mbappe on at Monaco? About €10k? Monaco won't be paying him a lot given he signed the contract when he was 17 before he blew up. He won't be signing a new contract with them but he knows he will get at least 10/15 times that at city or Madrid.

He will move this summer.
