Such an incredible prospect, but if Hazard goes to Real and Costa to China we will have very stiff competition

There is knowing about media pressure and dealing with it when as a player you go through bad spell and at 18 he hasnt had one yet. So we dont know how he will react.

We should be careful. For every rooney there are 2 or 3 andy carrol/ luke shaw/ de maria. I am not saying we shouldnt move for mbappe. Just must be careful. Anyways exciting player he is.
 
Far too expensive even in this market. Having said that, he's kind of a freakish physical specimen so I think we ought to buy him anyway. For science.
 
He's not coming this summer and his price is already stupidly high, you're not "saving a fortune" buying him this summer at all costs. He's only worth what a club are willing to pay and if they raise it too high too soon(which it sounds like they already have... maybe deliberately because they want to keep him another season) nobody will go in for him, so the price will have to drop when they need to cash in on him. I just think people are setting themselves up for a disappointment expecting him to be a summer signing for us personally, it would be nice add him to our attack for the next season but this isn't a FIFA video game. Hopefully we'll get Mbappé in another window but for now we'll just have to "make do" with a player being lauded by Brazilian legends old and new from Pelé to Ronaldinho to Neymar...

I want Mbappe as much as the next guy, but I'm of the opinion his value will not increase. He is very good. But world record fee would not get larger btw this year and next. And if we are going to pay WR fees, I want more evidence. This is not enough.

I mean, whether we get Mbappe or not, it's unlikely we'll simply "make do" with what we have up front.

I don't follow you... did you not get the sarcasm there? We have one of the hottest prospects in world football to be excited about already, we have Sané and Sterling who are developing a great partnership on and off the field too but it was more about not obsessing over Mbappé than anything else.

If you mean we still might strengthen upfront... true enough but only after other areas of the pitch are addressed and only at the right price for the right player... we absolutely shouldn't be desperate to get Mbappé this summer as some are suggesting. I say Pep will have a good look at Moreno and Roberts before spending more up front, isn't Mbappé a wide player rather than an out and out striker also?

Roberts and Moreno might impress Pep when they return for pre-season, plenty of potential in both of them(I wouldn't mind if we went into next season putting some faith in one or both of them, it's a gamble whatever we do)... I'm sure we'll have a good scout around and weigh up all the options too.

I would say only if Aguero leaves, otherwise I expect to go with what we have plus either Roberts or another young wide player to back up Sterling Sane Jesus Iheanacho Aguero.

Pep wont be desperate for any one player, certainly not Mbappé. He's not the worlds best player yet... not by a long shot whoever thinks that is getting way ahead of themselves, he might never be because the next Ronaldo no 9 would eclipse the next Henry but it's all a bit silly attaching names to it in the first place. I don't see how you could justify a world record transfer fee for a player whos just starting out his career(he's 18 he hasn't even had a chance to do anything yet) that's a price for the worlds best player at his peak and we'll be hard pressed to defend it if we are slated for it, we should wait at least another season. Even if someone else buys him and he turns out to be great there's always going to be good players we pass up on/didn't sign fast enough and wish we hadn't, it's silly to think otherwise.

Look he tried to sign him but the offer was declined, now if he signs him he knows it will mean a record fee... he will also know the media will love using that against him. He's already said it just last week, there's only so much you can spend in one window if that's not a big indication we wont be smashing transfer records I don't know what is... also aren't we bored of the club taking stick for outspending others? Last summer was a breath of fresh air, they tried to criticise us at first but ended up realising we'd made a lot of good signings whereas the rags' spend was mostly on Pogba.

We can't go with such a young attack force,they need experience with them especially the CL games,we have jesus now and sergio that's enough,even if sergio goes we should replace him with someone mid to late 20's with plenty of experience

You've already alluded(correct me if I'm wrong it was a good few pages back) to your beliefs that because we tried to sign him last summer it means Pep really wants him and we will get him this summer at any expense.
