They would come round quicker but we suffer from a lack of pace (or hadn't you heard) ;) lolSky Blue said:PMSL we've not had a 'lack of pace' thread for a while.
nonsense barca are and were one of the fastest teams around they would regularly surround the ball to force along pass which they would be first to they play into space because they are first to the ball and they play a high back line because they are all as fast watch youth barca fast as fuck you can teach a player first touch and skill that is what barca do but never paceI'm With Stupid said:Moving the ball fast is more important than running fast. The great Barcelona side of a few years ago wasn't particularly pacey, but still no-one could catch them. And it's not as if we don't have some fast players. Not many defenders could catch Navas and Aguero on the break.
They play with energy when they don't have the ball. I don't think that's the same thing as using pace to attack. If anything, they're more patient than us on the build up, but they pass it faster than any other team in the world. They usually have so much of the ball that they don't get many chances for quick counter attacks anyway.salfordbluetrue said:nonsense barca are and were one of the fastest teams around they would regularly surround the ball to force along pass which they would be first to they play into space because they are first to the ball and they play a high back line because they are all as fast watch youth barca fast as fuck you can teach a player first touch and skill that is what barca do but never paceI'm With Stupid said:Moving the ball fast is more important than running fast. I agree with you, somehow the majority don't see it.sam-caddick said:Thenumber1blue said:You don't need pace to be a top footballer !
No, but without it your are going to be a very limited team.
Barcelona have Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Fabregas who are all not quick players but they have Messi, Pedro, Sanchez, Alba, Neymar to name some who are rapid.
Bayern have Robben, Ribery and Alaba
Madrid have Ronaldo, Bale and Di Maria
These are just a few teams who all have pace in their side.
We desperately need more pace in our team, ideally from an attacking point of view with a Reus, Pedro or Sanchez type player on the wing cutting in.
Armaan said:This for me needs addressing this summer. In our starting 11 there's way too many players that are one paced and don't have much pace about them. Take our front six today once Yaya went off, Silva (he's amazing) Nasri, Dzeko and Garcia are all slow and pace is a huge thing in modern day football. Look at Barca with Sanchez Pedro Neymar. Madrid with Bale Ronaldo Di Maria. Bayern with Robben and Ribery on either side, pace frightens the hell out of an opposition and our only option is a pretty lame Navas. All top teams now require an abundance of pace but were severely lacking.
