We didn't put a left back on in the everton game to get a goal. We did it to shore up the defence.

Milner can play as an attacking midfielder. I would rather iheanacho came on to get a goal then lampard, if we're putting lampard on to get a goal we are in trouble.

You would rather put a kid on to get a goal than someone who has scored the most at chelsea a few months ago?

So when do you give iheanacho a chance. Alright lad you will only play if we are 5 - 0 up and cruising.

It would be a chance for him to be a hero. Remember when richards scored that equalizer against villa, that was a massive boost for him.

Anyway if we are putting lampard on because we desperately need a goal with all the attacking players we have, something has terribly gone wrong.
Whereas bringing on 17 year old would highlight how good everything must be..

Espcecially ahead of guy who has scored over 250 goals, solid logic.

Also, for what it's worth Richards started that game as Sun was unavailable for whatever reason.

Chucking on a youngster when you need a goal over a seasoned pro is mad whichever way you look at it

Not if the player your putting on is a striker while the the other has played as defensive midfielder for 2 years.

How many goals have they both scored?Lampard can sit back and push up yaya, david, nasri to get the goal we need
We won't agree it seems

Lampards record as a "defensive midfielder" in the last 2 years.

Appearances 90
Goals 25.

Just enjoying the fact we have effectively stuck two fingers up to FFP and Platini as well.
How?

Like Lampard is a playing asset? It's just to keep him fit.

Keegan signed a 'past it' Bernarbia on a free, he didn't do too badly.

Yeah I always think of david silva as a poormans Huckerby

Yeah Huckerby was much quicker and the better finisher reaching the 20 mark to win city the league.

You say that, but without FFP we'd have made an offer Everton couldn't refuse and had Barkley instead.

Ignoring Lampard for now, it is the principal of it, NYFC buy a player and loan same player to us, no transfer fee, acts against us and only have to pay wages. If for example Negredo had had his injury before David Villa had signed on loan for Melbourne do you not think we would have taken him on loan to get fit, rather than have to lose out or go and buy another striker. Not saying we would use this all the time but it is another option in an emergency.
