Lampard isn't the player he was but I thought he was still decent in the games I saw last season, especially away against Arsenal and the 2-0 win at Anfield. He was one of the big factors taking the sting out of those games for Chelsea when we could have done with some of that in those fixtures. Could be a bit like the Vieira loan, not so much in the legs anymore but football brain sharp as ever.
It might benefit the young players. I see him going into management in a few years. He speaks and communicates as well as any footballer I have come across, but as a footballer now I think he has little to offer accept maybe in the Cups

On another note, City do seem to like feeding off the scraps of other club legends...Lampard (if true), Vieira, Hargreaves (to an extent), and Fowler, Schmeichel and McMannaman before the sheikhs. Despite winning the title twice, only perhaps Touré and Aguero have similar status for City themselves, and even then they haven't had the same longevity.
