Still don't get why people found this news shocking. It's common knowledge cycling is as bent as a £30 note.

Then again I never got how people could cheat. Only cheating themselves if you're not good enough then tough shit thats life.

Seriously, it is a different sport. Football is a team game, sports like cycling rely on individual performance. If an individual thinks he can get away with it, it's easier to do alone rather than on a team. Much more likely to be grassed up in a team sport. Plus footy players don't need the conditioning of a cyclist, how many times have you seen players strolling about the park getting their breath back? Cycling in a race across mountains is much more intense.

Football isn't really a sport where having a physical advantage means you are more likely to win. Just look at Stoke their players are physically stronger than most but it is usually the smaller, more skillful and technical players who excel at the sport.
