The partnership he built up with Vinny towards the end of 2018/19 was the foundation that enabled us to win the last 14 games to fend off Liverpool and he ended that season by scoring the winner against Brighton on the last day to seal the title. It's a goal that is often overlooked, perhaps because we scored two more, but what a huge moment that was in our rivalry with Liverpool. It's also easy to forget that he scored the only goal in a cup final.
As others have mentioned, playing through injury to get us over the line in 2021/22 when we were down to the bare bones is what I will remember him most fondly for, especially as it probably contributed to him losing his place the following season. That's what you call sacrificing your own interests for the good of the team.
His first season with us was the centurions and his last season with us was the treble. It's bittersweet to see a player leave who has been here for every trophy of the Pep era.
5 Premier League titles, 4 EFL Cups, 2 FA Cups and 1 Champions League. Not bad in just five and a half years.
A classy player and by all accounts a classy person. Thanks for the memories Eric.
