Largest Away Following

Still surprised having looked through the thread, i appear to be the only one mentioning the infamous Good bad Friday game Oldham 1984, complete ground take over, enormous following that day.
I remember Buchan kicking Parlane, and a booming City voice in the paddock behind me shouted "Buchan....you crippled Colin Bell, and now you're trying to cripple Parlane!"

Biggest following I remember was Palace Away May 1990 although this might be something to do with the fact that by the time our minibus pulled up outside Selhurst Park at about 3.15pm I was already seeing double.

Was at that game very hot day, 4/5 thousand blues there, nowhere near our biggest away days.

Me too.
Was hot and us lot from Heywood were very drunk, drinking throughout the night on the way down.
Think it was 2-2 but might be wrong.
Remember after the game City fans on the pitch with a banner wishing Palace good luck in their FA Cup final vs the rags

At 6.13 you can see the referee make the world's first VAR square TV hand signal as he awards their penalty.

The other thing about this that was pointed out to me yesterday about this game is that Tueart and Bell have the 76/77 closed collar shirts on while the rest of the team have that season's (77/78) open V neck shirts on.
Check out David Harvey’s goalkeeper kit

I was there in the big open end. Credit to the Chaddy who stood firm to be honest.

Arsenal away in 1989 after we came up is a contender. The day we lost 4-0 in the yellow kit. I wasn’t there but a mate was. He went on the special and he said Arsenal fans were gobsmacked at the size of the escort. Seen some estimates of 8000 or more blues. Not sure how accurate that is but I think it was Arsenal’s second highest league crowd that season after the North London derby.
I was there. Arsenal averaged less than 30000 that season and there was 40000 for that game off memory. Biggest non Wembley London following I’ve ever seen.
