Really enjoyed it, but then it suffered in the post viewing analysis. Like how come the monsters managed to take over the earth when they could be killed by a shotgun?

Good acting with a shit plot, that's just my opinion of course but myself and the good lady talked through most of it because it was predictable and boring.
