Last Film You Saw

The Colin Farrell ‘film‘ is an abomination. God knows why he took that role.. oh yeah, I know why..

The Last Duel
2021
Someone on here said recently that Ridley Scott should stop directing films. After watching this I dont agree. It was excellent.
The photography reminded me a little of the recent "The King" (2019) in that the filthy, muddy, damp and rat-infested conditions in which even the noble's lived are presented authentically and that adds loads to the overall feel of the film. The weather being often cold and wet, the battles being fierce and bloody - all of this contributes well to the strong visual imagery. It's quite a long film, but I found the 3 episode nature (representing each persons account)carried that well and the last twenty minutes are certainly worth sticking around for. 8/10

That will be me that said that.

And you're quite right, the film is like looking at photography; looks nice, but sterile. It comes across in that way as as for all the nice 'authentic' touches Ridley Scott presents, he forgets the personality behind the characters needs to be present too.

Did you feel pulled to anyone in particular? I didn't.

I didn't care who won, lost, lied or loved.

I saw it as a waste of an opportunity.
