Top Gun Maverick. Absolutely fucking superb, one of the best films I've seen for a long time. It had a slight lull just before the final act which knocks half a mark off for me, 9.5/10.

Finished watching the remake of 'Midway' this afternnon. Desperate times in the Pacific. American victory by their finger ends.
Fascinating mystery, but this interpretation of the story was dissapointing.The Vanishing. Not sure why I ever think a Gerard Butler film is going to be any good. Always shite

Music by Johnny Williams, later called John, composer of some of the greatest film scores ever.Fitzwilly (1967) - on Sky117(London Live down Sarf, dunno what it is oop Norf) starred Dick Van Duke, sweet comedy - he is head butler in a mansion looking after impoverished dotty old dear, he and the rest of the staff are up to lots of dodgy frauds to keep money coming in - seems to be on at least once a week,amazed that I have never seen this film in my life.....

'Knocking'. A Swedish thriller/ghost story with Subtitles about a woman who moves into a new flat and hears strange noises, is she mad or are they real ? A low budget affair but very atmospheric.
