Last Film You Saw

The Fabelmans (2022) - 8/10

Really enjoyed it. Based on the early life of Steven Spielberg. Some really nice references in the film to future films that he'd directed and produced. Much like when I watched Avatar 2 recently, it was a nice cinema experience. Worthy of the Oscar nomination.

Do you ever find there are certain actors who you really don't take to? Just put Murder on th Orient Express (1974), great cast, but as Poirot, Albert Finney is badly miscast. Seem to remember Kenny Everett (Tory knob) doing an extraordinarily shit impression of him as a French waiter.

There's plenty I don't warm to.

I like most of what Albert Finney has done.

Really enjoyed Big Fish and The Green Man (BBC TV).

Took my teenage lads to see that Puss in Boots film. Not having seen any of the prior films with the character, I had little enthusiasm for seeing it, but it was very good and surprisingly dark, in a good way.

Dear Elizabeth (known in the US/Canada as Eat Wheaties)

About a man (Tony Hale from Veep/Arrested Development) who tries to contact the actress Elizabeth Banks.
Short enough at under 90 minutes to not outstay its welcome, and to me, charmingly played.
