Last Film You Saw

The new Nicholas Cage film on Amazon Prime.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

I enjoyed it. I really don't know why, but I did. It's supposed to be him taking the piss out of himself, but from that point of view, it doesn't go anywhere near far enough.

As a comedy thriller, it's not too bad. I've wasted 100 minutes on worse films.

Defiance - Daniel Craig attempting to speak with a Russian accent consistently, he scored a 5/10
The film gets 7.5/10
Watched it last night. Its on iplayer right now.

Agree with above, Craig doesn't seem right for the role. It's a true story and one I knew about, this was a decent effort to bring it to life. So many incredible things happened in ww2.

7.5 out of 10 about right.

Fabelmans - 8/10
some great acting, oblique references to Spielberg's future career (the odd obvious one) but overall a very decent film, if a bit of a cinema love in

The list I'm going through has had a few stinkers recently:

The Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981) - 2/10
A bit of a satirical take on the 1957 film, The Incredible Shrinking Man. The humour in it gets a bit tedious and a bit annoying.

Pulse (2006) - 2/10
American horror remake of what I hear is a very good Japanese horror. The whole film looks depressing in the blue/grey colour grade that they've shot it in, it's deliberate but it's grim and hasn't aged well.

Narvik (Netflix) - Based on the true story of a battle between Britain & Germany for Norwegian ore at the beginning of WW2, with the neutral locals caught in the crossfire. Classed by some as Hitler's 1st defeat of the war.
Decent WW2 yarn 7/10
