I wasn't thinking of comparing iterations, but the villain has to be half-decent.

Oddly, I don't think I've seen any of the Nolan trilogy, something I should sort out at some point.

Started the Rocky series again yesterday, Rocky 2 today, I can honestly say absolutely no films give me such a massive sense of elation as the final fight scenes.

Watched it last night and have to agree.

Just watched it and don't get the hype about it. Certainly not as good as I thought would be

Patton. Just last night.
Saw it in the cinema when it came out, in 1970. And once on DVD about twenty years ago. Still an astonishing performance by George C. Scott. But my son pointed out, correctly I think, that they could have cut certain scenes and shortened others. He has his generation's intolerant eye for anything that seems a bit slow, but thinking it over I think he was justified basically.
Still a bloody good film, and I don't usually go for war films.

An absolute mess of a film, by the way: 1900, by Bertolucci. Spends about three hours not knowing what it wants to be or do. Also, incredibly unwieldy since it's shot in three languages — mainly in English, partly in French, partly in Italian!

Godzilla Vs Kong. No plot whatsoever, but if you like monsters having a scrap in Hong Kong this is for you. Brill special effects, looks ace on my oled. No brain required.
