Last Film You Saw

Hmmm, wasn't aware it was that long. Not sure sitting in the cinema that long is such a good idea now.

Might have to wait.
2hr 49m
Some of the fight scenes are ridiculously over long and needlessly repetitive. Could have easily cut an hour without losing anything at all from the story
Shame as the film has a lot to commend it otherwise, as said it looks brilliant (especially on the big screen) and there are seem really fun/memorable new characters
For a franchise that was supposed to be pulpy fun it doesn’t need to be that long

Top Gun Maverick
Nothing more than a Cruise vehicle, albeit with wings. Fun, but I don't think it's a Great Film.
Hadn't realised the actors had been playing with the cameras as it went, and there is a lot of gurning under several g.
Ludicrous pilot characters from the little we saw of most of them.

Elvis
Butler is good, the film isn't.
Impersonation is one thing, but shouldn't be the whole thing. It doesn't offer much insight on the main character and rushes past the more awkward parts of his story but does show Colonel Tom's horridness.

Alien.

What was that? Can’t believe it’s considered one of the best films ever made. Nothing about it stuck with me.

Rewatched Shaun if the Dead the other night.

We love Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran, and Nick Frost. Probably going to break out Run Fatboy Run this weekend.

"Alien" is good.

"Aliens" is waaay better!
No chance.

Alien is one of the best films ever made, atmosphere is on par with Halloween for all time greats, the pacing is perfect and the cast is top notch.

Aliens is the action film version of Alien, and I dont say that as a compliment.

Thats not to say I don't like Aliens when I'm in the mood for pure 80s mindless action, but Alien is superior in every way!

In terms of a drama of discovery, I'd agree with you.

But for a pure adrenaline rush, no way.

Last year I played both to my lad as he hadn't seen them.

He voted for the second film.

Watched "Swiss Miss" a Laurel and Hardy movie on You Tube. Been a long time since I watched it. Good innocent fun.

"Stan gets drunk on a St. Bernard's keg of brandy, so that when he and Ollie are told to move the composer's piano to a tree-house where he can work in peace, Stan is not much help, especially when they have to cross a narrow rope bridge over a deep ravine to get there. While they are crossing, they have a confrontation with a local street musician's gorilla."
