Last Film You Saw

Gone Girl. 7.5/10
I enjoyed it. Bit farfetched at times but I didn’t get bored and would def recommend. Rosmund Pike was good playing the psycho woman (or just a normal woman as I’d put it) and that bird from the blurred lines video gets her tits out mid way through which was nice.

Unbroken. 6/10
Its ok. True story which I always like but he got twatted that much throughout the film it actually got boring and I stopped feeling sorry for him and just wanted him to die. Its like 3 films rolled into one.

The Equaliser. 5/10
Not my type of film. Some people may like this but never been a fan of those cheesy scenes where one guy can be able to knock out about 10 guys at once. Similar to Taken. Old man who twats everyone.

American Snipe 6/10
It was watchable. Nothing not seen before though. Still shocked that Bradley Cooper was in a film without Jenifer Lawrence.

The Gambler 5.5/10
Average again. Story was ok. Nothing memorable in the film but it kept me interested to the end. Just.

Fury 7/10
I wasnt expecting much but this was actually alright. Story was good. Realistic battle scenes and the film in general was entertaining from start to finish.

So your least favourite was the Equaliser because you aren't a fan of films where one guy can take out ten. But your second favourite is Fury where 4 guys in a broken down tank take out half the SS

Interstellar, best film I've seen in years.

Absoloutley brilliant film. I thought mathew mcconaughey was a rubbish actor before this, but he is brilliant in this.

Jesus you two.

You obviously missed the thread I started back in November about this load of crap. A bunch of year 8s armed only with a protractor could have conjured up a better plot and better science.

Talking of crap- just seen Kingsmen.

4/10

Kip Thorne said you're a deuche

I concur.....

Some people are biased when watching movies because they prefer a certain genre and tailor their reviews accordingly.

"Whiplash is crap but I think Interstellar is one of the best films I've seen in years"

Some films have brilliant acting, directing or story lines but aren't some peoples bag.

Just an observation!

Watched The last waltz last night. One of Scorsese's best.
I watch that movie about once every couple of months, The Band, one of the best ever `American ' bands

Didn't they used to play up in your neck of the woods too?

Hehe you do have a point there. I think though this feeling of authenticity in Fury is the realistic clothing and weaponry etc. The end bit the brain just kind of gives over to poetic license.

Perhaps I am showing my age but from my own experience there tends to be a pretty consistent and positive correlation between the amount of explosions and CGI in a film and how crap it is.

There are exceptions of course but I think some directors get lazy and ignore plot, dialogue, character development etc and just rely upon staged sequences.

Harumph.

Watching Moonraker right now. What a load of shit and completely forgot about him fighting with a rubber anaconda on a set that makes Logan's Run look modern.

Well I haven't seen Interstellar but I didn't finish Whiplash - the 'not my tempo' bit was too uncomfortable and didn't really ring true. I listen to music like that sometimes, I often think I can tell in a second or two what's right or wrong, but in practice tempo just doesn't settle down that quickly, it's something the player has to find over a bar or two. Maybe he was just fucking with the kid but I didn't want to watch that movie. Also, the sound mixing was stupid, everything went through the centre channel when it was a glorious opportunity to put us right in the middle of a band, surrounded by energy.

I agree, although some action movies and such can be enjoyable and fantastic, this obsession with who can deliver the best CGI is a real bore.
