Yes - Bernstein was a brilliant, complex and charismatic individual but they made him very one-dimensional as the focus was entirely on his relationships and tensions around his sexuality. Both leads are nominated for Academy Awards I believe, but I found the film overall very disappointing.

Just watched it. Definitely a cut above some of the other stuff around. 8.5/10.

Thought it was like an extremely dark Brideshead Revisited. Even had a teddy in it ;-)

A Night to Remember (1958)

I don't care what anyone says, this isn't a patch on Titanic, but still a very enjoyable watch, 7.5/10.
