Last Film You Saw

"The Exorcist"

Brilliant movie, fashionable to dislike these days but a classic for me. Jason Miller is fantastic as Father karras and should have won the best actor oscar instead of only getting the nom for best supporting actor, hes outstanding in it.

Bit of trivia- the assistant x-ray dude when Linda Blair is in the hospital is Paul Bateman who was convicted of one murder and confessed to 6 others which no one doubts he did.

X Men: Future of Days Past, quite good, kind of works but kind of doesn't, first half was better than the second half and didn't see the point of including a cool character and then dispensing with him halfway through, once it tries to follow through with the plot it just falls flat, the camaraderie of the first half was the best bit.

All surface, which is odd for a film trying to have so much depth, felt the first one, whilst not as good or as funny, had more depth and feeling to it.

I also just think, that apart from just flashes, this franchise just fails to get the best out of its star cast. They just don't get enough out of McAvoy, Fassbender and Lawrence for me, and that trio is just an amazing blend of talent. Even though it's often seen as a cynical marketing ploy I think the three need to have their own standalone films now as their characters, really build them so they can work better as a trio and still shine, at the moment there's just too many bits for my liking.

All over the place 6/10.

Dodgeball, watched it again yesterday; as far as American comedy's go, one of the best.

Go Balls Deep

9/10
