Last Film You Saw

Someone recommended 12 strong.
Watched half an hour this morning.
Just putting it back on.
Very good so far.
Thanks to whoever it was that said it

The Godfather Pt 2 is on C4 tonight at 11:05. If you're planning a quiet new year's eve at home, you could do a lot worse. It's a brilliant film (a rare example of a sequel being better than the original; we won't mention the third one!). I love the flashbacks to the young Vito starting out in "business" in New York in the early 20th century. De Niro is fantastic in the role. It's a long film, nearly 4 hours with the commercial breaks, and that will put people off it. By the time it's over, you'll be thinking about getting up!

Agree completely about 2 being better than 1, I too like it when they go back to explore Vito's origins in Sicily and New York

This morning watched The Prestige. Watched it years ago and forgot how good it was
Watched it tonight and remembered how ridiculous it was. Nice ideas for twists but the plot holes were so massive and the characters so unlikeable that it just was a big waste of time imo.

The Day of The Jackal. 8/10

Thought I’d watch this after binging the series as it was one of the old man’s favourite films and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of nods to the film in the series.

I do love older films and their no nonsense approach. 2 hours of build up to a final scene that lasts about 5 seconds… as it would in real life.
