Might be the case that both City and Real offered the same amount, and they dont want to sell to a team that is in the same league. Villa cant really hurt Valencia if he came to England.

if real matched us we would go one better
from now on nobody can beat us in a bidding war. if we set our sights on someone we get them pricewise the only thing stopping us is lack of success

no doubt it will but at the moment that is what would hold us back in the transfer market

In some way I agree BUT if and it's a big if, we do manage to sign the likes of Kaka and Villa the current lack of success will not matter

Sid Lowe (Spanish football expert on Talksport) said this afternoon that Valencia were is the shite financially,but that he would be very surprised if anything happened in january.He says one of the main reasons for this is that Villa himself doesnt want to leave Spain,especially for the Premier League.He did admit though that we were in a financial postion never heard of before in world football and could buy out any potential clause if we really wanted the player.

The question is does Hughes want Villa?

True - maybe they just decided they'd go for Huntelaar because he was cheaper. You're probably right though i think we outbid then ;)

yeah mate i suppose cheaper could be a possibility but they just got £32.5million of us for robinho and madrid are hardly strapped for cash.
basically im just hoping we outbid them!!!!!!!!

Don't forget VanHorseface is out for the season. They may have been looking to strengthen anyway but now need 2 strikers.

As mentioned Madrid cannot match us financially, goes without saying, expecially if they need the money upfront.

Hi all some more info, villa was not over eager for the prem but apparently madrid wont pay the huige money valencia want.

The main bit here is he has been made aware of a big signing which is happening in the summer which i have no idea who it is, which has helped him make a decision.
