Can you imagine if they tested as often in other sports as they do in cycling ?
Both codes of rugby for instance would find it hard to field sides with all the banning that would go on because of failed drug tests.
The less said about football and it's lack of proper drug testing the better.
As for Froome.....he's a very , very lucky boy imo

In small quantities that drug doesn't give you an advantage, but in large quantities it does. There is a predetermined allowed limit and he had supposedly double that amount when tested. So he has broken the rules and got away with it...

Lets not get started on the Bilharzia stuff either.

Like in football, we can watch the same sport want different people to win for different reasons. I think he's a cheat, some people don't and that's fine.

Let's get something absolutely right here. He did not, repeat, DID NOT break any rules. That is why it was dropped. End of story. If you have any evidence that he did cheat I am sure the UCI would be only to happy the see it. Thinking he is a cheat doesn't mean he is one no matter how highly you rate your judgement.

I hope Froome wins and shoves it up the Frenchies once again.

News of the abnormal reading shouldn’t have been leaked but similar accidental
Incidences have resulted in temporary suspensions (I think Yates got 4 months earlier in his career and another rider is finishing a 9 month ban).

I can imagine it was an easy mistake to mistake if Froome had a really bad chest on the day in question.

Factually incorrect and it's been documented that the levels he had would have in fact had a detrimental effect on his performance.

He is not guilty it's that simple because he has done nothing wrong.

Trust me, if he had the French and the UCI would have taken great pleasure in banning him but as it is, he is without doubt one of the most tested sportsmen on the planet and he is clean.

He did, should make for a great spectacle now hope it runs smoothly.

Gonna be great - cant wait. Really hope Cav can up his wins total upwards towards the record he wants - reckon he's only got a couple of years max at stage winning level. Even this year he'll have to be smart and piggy back on some of the other trains - and follow Kittel basically!

Nice to see you being impartial again Leighton.

He should have served no ban and the case shouldn't have even made the media but it did due to a leak which goes against the actual procedures in place so he has had to face a trial by media.

He is the best rider in the world and the French and a few others just dont seem able to handle that fact.

Spot on mate

To be fair to Froome and Sky there are very few clean teams in cycling which is a legacy of the past. Full on drug abuse was rampant for years - still is outside of the ultra elite teams (who get tested regularly). The issues now around TUE's and asthma drugs are on a very different scale to what has gone before. They should ban all TUEs then it makes it clear cut. What they were trying to pin on Froome was excessive amounts of a drug he was permitted to use, not a clear cut issue that. He does have a body of a freak.

I dont think there should be any sort of TUEs in sport. I have a brother who ran and represented Ireland in athletics for years more so on the cross country. He missed out on 1 of the Olympics by something as short of .3 of a second to get the A standard quailifing time. He was routinely tested all the time if he had a cold or anything like that he couldnt take anything for it. There was no such thing as TUEs back then he was just unlucky to miss out. It always pissed him off to hear and see any sports person caught with taking anything as he was a clean athlete. Yeah he was never going to win any big races but he took part and never cheated anyone.

I just feel for the sport like you eliminate the TUEs and clean it up in cycling and everything. Make it cleaner and real test. I always say look at Icarus on netflix its a real eye opener on how easy it is to cheat your way to the top.

I totally agree with what you say. If there is a limit of puffs allowed stick to that limit dont double it the rules where broken and he should of been banned.

Not only is he the best rider in the world but his team are the best team in the world by a long way. You could argue that 3 or 4 of the other riders in Sky’s Le Tour squad would have a decent go at winning the thing themselves if they were the leader.

Anyone who still doubts him have a read of this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/44694122
