Le Tour de France 2016

Amazes me how these sprinters just all seem to appear at the end.
It's like they just hop on the road a mile back.

Right lazy bastards! Nowhere to be seen until 3km to go on a flat stage. I wouldn't notice if they sat in their team cars for the rest of the tour. Cav's brilliant though.

If Cav is fit for next year's Tour, I will probably head out to France to see if he can match or beat Mercx's record. This would be (IMHO) our cycling equivalent of the 1966 World Cup.

Not a cycling guru but stage wins surely not a patch on winning the tour?

30 wins is something very special. Fair enough it doesn't rank alongside Mercx's five tour.wins or the fact that Eddy is the greatest rider of all time. If Cav got to 35 wins then he would be one of our sporting greats.

Cav is a true great the stages are longer than there ever has been. I think no matter what he ends on he will be the best sprinter of all time. I think he could end up hitting 40 stage wins seems fit and confindent in himself. Last yeaar it looked like he was coming to the end but my god this season been amazing.

Whilst Cav potentially breaking Mercx's record would be quite some achievement and underline him as the greatest sprinter ever, I think there are other cyclists who are ahead of him in achievement, on the track certainly, likes of Hoy and on the road by Froome, however Wiggin's palmares has him by far and away ahead of all British all comers whether on the track or road, and Sir Brad is our greatest ever cyclist and one of our greatest sportsmen.

Prior to the Vuelta in 2011 Froome hadn't finished near the top 20 in any Grand Tours, and all of a sudden he's the best GC rider and have been for five years, he's stronger uphill than Quintana and Contador who are specialists and equal to Martin, Cancellara in the TT. Unbelievable what a new team means. It reminds me of a certain someone..
A little bit like Leicester
