Le Tour de France 2016

Great effort from Froome, nasty fall, now on his teammates bike with a different chain setting.

Come on Yates get back on this Peloton.

Well there has been a French winner then, Bardet is an excellent descender so he could do the same tomorrow.

Mollema is fucked, must be horrible all on your own knowing your hopes are being dashed and most probably in pain as well.

I thought Porte might do something but his problem that he had seemed to have knackered him up that final climb.

Carnage some nasty crashes all over that final descent.

Only missed 3 days of the tour this year, nearly 4 hours after the race and no one has posted. Well done Chris and the lads from sky, enjoy Paris.

Very true, I had this on the tv and the cricket on my laptop today, although it was never really in doubt after the TT (despite his little tumble yesterday).

Chapeau Chris Froome, only the 8th rider in history to win 3 Maillot jaune and no reason why he cant get up with the greats and get 5.

Also Chapeau to Yates, shame he missed the podium but white jersey and 4th is a good effort.

@malg will be happy Quintana finished 3rd.

Might have thought some one might have had a pop at Froome on the decent in that weather just to maybe force an error.
Not a bad knock by Root.

Sky train is too strong, and he had most things covered all day, over 4 mins is too much to make up, so they were just consolidating their podium places.

Great knock by Rooooooooot and Woakes getting 3 at the end continues his good form.

Sky are just way, way too strong. I heard someone on the ITV coverage saying that they have that much money that 2 of Froome's team mates could be the lead on other teams. I personally think it's been slightly disappointing this year as there has been no challenge at all, it was all a bit tame. Quintana is lucky to be on the podium (mind you, I've got a real downer on him, so that's just me). If Yates and a couple of others had stronger teams they may well have been on the podium in Paris.

Three TDF wins by Froome....what a great achievement. It's a shame that he will most probably have no chance in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year later in the year. This award should just be called BBC Sportsperson of the year or something like that....it's all about winners and nothing to do with personality.

Really enjoyed the tour this year been great viewing with added excitement with the wet conditions in last few days. Congratulations to Chris Frooms but there has been little challenge to a ridiculously strong Sky team

Hey, I like Froome, but he ain't exactly bursting with a vibrant personality. However, that doesn't appear to have stopped people voting for 'dullards' before. I think the problem is that we've had that much success in cycling the British public have become accustomed to our riders winning and don't see it as anything special. Christ, 3 TdF wins and the headlines will be about fucking cricket or a football transfer!

Look at Cavendish. 30 stage wins, and at one point he won on the Champs Elysees 4 times in a row, and most Brits would walk past him in the street.
