League Cup Final Ticket Allocation {merged}

Not everyone can get or afford a season ticket. Just like not every season ticket holder can afford to be in cup completions that's why I choose to go to all cups games I can get tickets for and as many premier league matches I can afford.

A lot of season ticket holders struggle to get to mid week games due to living far away/working/not being able to afford it, of course they should still have priority for the final.

No seasons ticket holders buy a season ticket to the premier league which is a different competition. If they want to go into a cup competition they can opt into that and they should have first priority to opt into that. That's fair.
What isn't fair is a season ticket holder who hasn't bothered to go to any of the cup games getting priority to the final over a citizens member who has in that particular season. It's a different competition.

My mrs is a Liverpool fan and can't usually get to many premier league games. She's been to all the cup games and guess what.. She qualifies for the final. That's fair imo.

It's about rewarding you for financial commitment. I commit in advance to every home league and cup game the club play. That's well over a thousand pounds a season and I've done it for most of my life. I get second priority after those the same as me who also attend all or most of the away matches. That's fair, and even in my situation I miss out on qualifying for some of the aways including the best Champs LEague and the derby. I don't complain, it's fair. And so the priority list moves down.

I'm afraid attending 2/3 cheap midweek games should not put you to the front, or even near the front of the queue, even if they are for the same competition. If you want a ticket and work hard enough you'll get one. I've already got access to a couple through friends who aren't going. That's how it works too, I'm afraid.

Buying a season ticket with that intention isn't really fair imo. Obviously not everyone can get to every game but if you intentionally buy one just so you get points for games you have no intention of attending is abusing the system. A system that is rewarding monetary input rather than loyalty.

It also adds up to empty seats in great positions and flat atmosphere.

I disagree. I've missed a handful of home matches this season at a financial cost to myself. My seasoncard ensures I don't need to worry about booking a seat for the matches I can attend. I also specifically like where I am and there's hardly any available tickets for general sale.

I'm certainly not saying a season ticket holder should have no priority I totally understand the financial and time invested as a season ticket holder. What I'm saying is surely a fan who has seen every match of that completion can't be right near the bottom of the pile.
Unless I've read it wrong a citizen member who isn't a season ticket holder can't even buy one at any point no matter how many points they have.

But you didn't set out intentionally to miss those games which is fair enough.

Given that there'll be sod all City fans at the Semi which is our home game I can't see how we can complain about the allocation for the Final. 31.5K is more than enough when most fans don't take the League Cup seriously anyway.

So you think that going to 2 or 3 cup games in a season is a better gauge of loyalty than someone who has been to 19 league games every season for the last 10 years? It's an interesting theory, but I don't think you'll get much support for it.

No what I'm after is if you are a Citizen member with enough loyalty points you should be able sign up for cup schemes as well so you're at least in with a chance. As it stands I can't get a look in. It happened the other year, went to every FA cup game inc Chelsea in the semi then couldn't get to the final.

Or.. your cup attendance should be looked at over a number of years. I often hear people describing the Capital One cup as a Micky mouse cup. I happen to really enjoy all cup games.

Yeh but whichever way you dress it up mate, you are asking for priority over regular season ticket holders and people who go to near enough every away match. It's a little bit arrogant to think your 3 games this season are worth more in terms of loyalty than the hundreds of games regular season ticket holders have attended over the years.

Don't get me wrong mate, if you can only afford a few games a season, I hope you still manage to get hold of a ticket somehow. But of course regular season ticket holders should get priority, I really think your argument here is a non-starter if you sit down and think about it.

If it doesn't sell out to ST holders then you would have a chance but this will be unlikely. If you search hard enough or stay around forums etc close to the day/kick off you could well pick one up.
