League Cup Newcastle '76

The one we were on broke down I think at Watford Gap........my dad who was a very unlikely hitchhiker asked someone in the car park there if they were going to London and a chap in a mini dropped us off right outside the ground......we sat down just as Jeff Astle scored
Coming back we just looked for the Fieldsend coaches in the car park......I think very were lots of them.
Was it only the supporters club on the coach you were on ?
That was 1970.

I know,....we were also talking about other Wembley trips
Fairy nuff. I came back from Coimbra after the match on the Wednesday, where the temperature was about 70F, to arrive at Manchester, where it was snowing! Bloody awful journey down to Wembley in the snow, followed by only one drink in the pub we stayed at in Sarf Landan before going to bed because we were all knackered!
Happy days.

I was there for the 76 League Cup final. By pure chance I met up with 2 friends of mine in the block I was in. Now when you consider that at the time they lived in Cheetham Hill in Manchester, and I was living in Middleton Manchester. It was just amazing that we ended up in the same block.

Great day and night,

Stayed over somewhere in West London, had a big drink in the Cockney Pride and around Piccadilly Circus with some Geordies. No trouble with them just some gobby cockneys, probably rag fans
Great day and night,
We must have been following each other around the West end that night as we did exactly the same thing.
I was with my younger brother, a couple of mates from Middleton and a load of lads from Burnage, including Sid C from on here.
We went down on the Friday morning and crashed out at Sid C brothers house in Barnes,South London.
Out straight away into the West End via the tube and almost got arrested for mooning as we went through each underground station.
Then into a few boozers around the West End and eventually into The Cockney Pride.
A bit of a ruckus developed with a few Cockney twats who turned out to be WHU from Croydon.
After trading a few blows with one of these Sarvern fookers, I was ejected out into Piccadilly Circus, swiftly followed by my brother.
No trouble with any of The Geordies though ,they were all sound as a pound.
