LEAGUE CUP WINNERS 2013/2014!! Post Final Thread

Brilliant. Yaya comes up trumps in the big game again. Not at our best but can't argue with the shiny thing with a dented base.

Anyone fancy a celebration Cup winners Teddy Bear, 10 inch you know.... thought not

Shocking first half from us but we were better second half, but fair play to Sunderland because it took two wonder goals for us to take the lead.

Buzzing we won this trophy and hopefully it will give us confidence to go on and succeed in the Premier League and FA Cup, and who knows, Barcelona??

My only concern is that ever since the Chelsea defeat we have found it hard against all the oppostion teams we have faced, I think Mourinho kind of found us out that day and other teams have took note of that Chelsea performance, I just think maybe we might have to change a few approaches to our game.

Not just because I hate that man being attributed with anything good, but he didn't figure out shit. It's always been a default tactic against high line high possession to defend deep and counter with pace. We've been below par since then due a combination of confidence taking a knock and being very, very tired. It was no surprise as soon as we had a chance to catch our breath we swept Chelsea aside at the next opportunity.

I really hope we don't go hell for leather trying to turn around the Barca result. It's only going to bite us on the arse.

We fight till the end! Thankfully!
Shit first half, much better second half.
Great win!
First trophy of the season.... More please!

Jesus, that was intense. It had the look of one of those 0-1's at the Stadium of Light until some genius from some of our big players changed it all around, how sweet was that quick turnaround? As they contain some ex-Rags and some notable rag fans then I find it very difficult to give 2 effin hoots about whether they stay up or not.
Still, after we went 2-1 up they had a lot of pressure and a lot of the ball in our half but we defended quite well. As for Poyet and his cheap money comments well he won't remember that Sunderland had a spell, in the mid 90's(?) when they spent a lot of money and finished high up in the league a few times on the back of that spending so......up yours

Personally i think the loss of Aguero has not helped his work rate is excellent and regardless of how good Edin or Negrado are individually they don't play well together - away from is too shaky but for today we won and another bit of silver wear so happy bunny

Thought we got caught out in the middle of the pitch until Javi came on. Difficult one. When teams play 4-5-1 against our 4-4-2, we leave huge gaps between the midfield and back four. That's for the Boss to work out now but what a platform to build on today.

Well done one and all.
