It would tell the world that WE REALLY ARE THE BEST TEAM IN EUROPE!!
Plus, it would be the culmination of 10 years of brilliant stewardship by the owners for whom this is the Holy Grail, HRH would get to stick it up PSG’s arse, it would be a rather large feather in Pep’s “only with Messi” cap, NO ONE would be able to say, “yeah, but you haven’t won the Champions League,” AND it would be a brilliant capstone to the careers of players like Vinny, David, Fernandinho, even Sergio.

Although I would always so the league, you make some good points. Can’t help but think a lot of it is know-towing to the opinions of the ABCs for whom the CL would suddenly and mysteriously lose its lustre if we won the CL and the bin dippers won the league.
