LeagueCup SF - Man Utd - away allocation of only 3000 (p30)

Fairly sure it will be in the ground/ticket regulations small print of both clubs that they can implement such a change...[and others].

They can, if they feel a need to, state that any decision was taken with due regard to X or Y, even if implemention was because of Z.

Not yet seen a statement from the clubs confirming any specific reason for implementation?, May not even state a specific reason?

Is it likely that there will still be flares let off in the ground and trouble at both fixtures even with this implementation, ..well probably.
Looks like it’s the policing fee that they don’t want to pay but they will come out with fan trouble is why!

@gingerprince there is a statement on City website. It says that there is a mutual agreement and it is for the fan’s safety.

Thx Eccles Blue, see they have in their joint statement utilised the "for the safety of all fans" for implementation of reduced away ticket allocation.

It would be interesting for someone to press either or both clubs to give visibility on how they came to such a decision. Indeed, if it is/was really for safety of the fans, there seems to be some lack of consultation with "the fans" eg we would like to ensure the safety of all fans, we welcome your suggestions on how we can implement changes to impact this positively, for your benefit?

What other options were discussed and with whom? When you consulted with GMP what exactly was their response? Did they require increased levels of policing to be agreed and paid for? if they were to agree with normal away allocations and fixtures to go ahead on that basis. As I attended both fixtures of the last League Cup Semi Final between the two clubs when allocations were not reduced to PL away allocations, what conditions have changed and why in the pre game consultations that bring about this change? Finally, should both clubs now be prosecuted retrospectively for not taking additional steps for ensuring all fans safety by allowing normal increased cup away fans allocations at those two games.......if this change is specifically for the safety of all fans....

For fuck sake, city matters were never gonna be able to change both clubs from doing this just as the official supporters clubs the 1894 group or MUST can't

If you are pissed off choose the right people to blame which is City and the Rags for both being a short sighted pair of twats who give little regard for their away fans.

As pointed out by the other lots supporters, colchester got 7000 allocation and we are giving Port Vale 8000, safety grounds is a piss poor lazy excuse by the clubs and GMP

Very disappointed.
I’ve been on this cup scheme since it started and with around 15000 points will probably miss out. I’ve been to a few aways in the League Cup because of the larger allocation and been to all Wembley finals. I think I’ll give Wembley a miss this time round if we get through. It’s diabolical.

I don't think GMP or United care a jot about the safety of away fans. If they did they would not allow the chaos that ensues outside their stadium every time we (and Liverpool FC) play there. The home fans are allowed to congregate within a few yards of the away turnstiles. They are allowed to taunt, abuse, and spit on away fans in full view of police and stewards without any intervention. This has been happening for decades. Old Trafford is the only club in this country where away fans are subject to this. For most of the 70s and 80s it was safer for City fans to go in the home end (often the Stretford Paddock) than the away section. Don't expect the media to report this because, like Liverpool, they get a free pass. The Bellamy incident which involved a full bottle of beer almost knocking him out was brushed under the carpet. In a lot of countries the match would have been abandoned.

we would never sell out again at port vale so maybe that’s why their fans are ‘safe’ as an extra 5k fans must mean at least £100k extra on the gate.

Shame on City for this.

Soriano and the rest of the number crunching cvnts don’t give a fvck about the real fans. This is the kind of occasion you live for as a fan and that cvnt with his obsession with bourgeois, boring middle class fans and their “match day experience” is directly responsible.

Shit like this drives real fans away and is why the atmosphere is bollocks and why we get so many empty seats and why we’ll never fill an extended stadium.

Not the point though is it, we have give them the normal fair Cup allocation, and so should do the same for the derby games.
