Your comments continue to amuse me. Never has someone been so selective with what 'news' coming out of the club they choose to believe. You're quite willing to stand behind whatever negative things you hear or read about Hughes, but suddenly become unsure when we talk about players, such as Elano. You can't have it both ways! Either you believe what is printed or you don't. It makes no sense for you to extrapolate truth based on personal opinion.
Or maybe, like so many on here, you have intimate knowledge of the dressing room and the inner workings of Manchester City Football Club?
And I still don't know where you stand on the main issue. You seem to be hedgings your bets to me. You constantly point the finger of blame at Hughes, with good reason I'm sure, but don't want him to go? Have a little bit of courage in your convistions, man. If you want genuinely don't think that we will improve under Hughes then why do you want him to stay?

PM???!!! I dont want to be defending someone who "needs to go"???!!!

thats the problem. elano doesnt tackle, he isnt that kind of player.
hughes expects him to tackle, whilst Brazil dont.
Who has had more success? Brazil? or leslie?
Rags accomodate Ronaldo because he doesnt tackle
Chelseas accomodate Joe Cole, he doesnt tackle.
Arsenal accomodate Rosisky, Vela, Van Persie, they dont tackle
How many tackles do you see messi doing? Kaka?
Fuck me, is we signed them Hughes would sub them because they wouldnt track back and tackle.
Elano is a talent that we need, more now so than ever.

Forevercity - I always respect your opinions on here as they are often well thought out but PLEASE do not compare Elano to any of the above players. Off the top of my head he has been truly influential in three games since he joined us (Boro at home and Newcastle home and away) but other than that I am struggling to see what he has done for us that warrants such support.

Even by your low standards that is shit

Elano has probably played his last game for us, Hughes strikes me as a man of principles, he clearly for whatever reason doesnt like/rate Elano........what we've got to worry about now is what impact this is going to have on Robinho?
He sees his best mate (one of the reasons he signed for us in the first place) being treated , rightly or wrongly, like dogsh9t..........will he throw his toys out of the pram? Wouldnt be the first time, look what happened at Real Madrid

At home, when Ireland, Robinho and SWP are available, I'd pick them every time
I've given up expecting anything from elano away from home.
He's had chances as recently as Everton at home, and Santander away. I can't remember the last time I saw him play well away. There's been some games, particularly Bolton away, when I've felt cheated by his 'efforts'. I don't work hard all week, and give so much emotional energy to my club, to see a talented but seemingly careless play give so little for the shirt.
At the start of the season, I thought Hughes would get him fit, and that we'd see some consistency as a result. He is fitter, but it hasn't had any effect on his game.

He was involved in 39% of our goals last season, 4th best in the league.
And was involved in 21% of our assists, 4th best in the league.
And some people are trying to make out that he is rubbish.
I think you're absolutely right. But, to be fair, I think Elano is held to higher standard than the players just mentioned because we saw what he is capable of doing in his first couple of months here (and unlike Kompany, Ireland and SWP, he's not performed as well as we know he can do for quite some time). I would disagree with anyone that says he is a poor player, he's clearly not, but his form has dipped and he consistently plays below par. That's frustrating for everyone, is it not?Disturbance said:moomba said:He was involved in 39% of our goals last season, 4th best in the league.

All true but you may as well bang your head against a brick wall, as the ones who slate Elano will never give him credit no matter what he does. I've seen posts made after 10 minutes of a game to point out that he misplaced a pass, yet when Kompany or Ireland loses it or SWP runs down a blind alley it goes unmentioned. The anti-Elano clique stick to their mantra of "he's been crap for a year" without bothering to judge his performances in full.
