Leeds (H) | Post Match Thread

This is what the big gap to 2nd is for.

Clearly the whole club's head will be very firmly fixed on Dortmund away.

About 3/4 of the team that will start that game were rested today purely for that game.

We can afford a bit of wiggle room as we've banked it for days like this.

Wednesday.

So do we play a second string team every league game now? We wont always be able to afford lose a league game.

and it wasnt the right decision because the team he put out lost ... to leeds
Didn't it was the right decision when Pep rotate 70% of the team and got winning rows?

Exactly this. We have earned the luxury to be able to prepare for these fixtures and gained the advantage it brings.

It was totally the right approach imo.

if say Debruyne and Dias had both played but hobbled off today.. can you imagine the state of this place now?

I am hearing Sterling has been racially abused on social media, (again).

Police are investigating.

Sad that one or two resort to this kind of disgusting behavior. Probably scousers again.

Genuinely believe we need to trim the fringe players. Buy a few more match winners and have the academy players involved. Won’t happen tho

I'm worried that a lot of these players are now seen as fringe players. We are acting like Wenger just put out the kids in the caraboa cup first round:-)

I think both were fined for getting state aid off the government, no big uproar like with us though or talk of bans. They seem to be able to spunk big money year after year and no one asks any questions.
Just look at what’s happening with Madrid’s £500m+ stadium refurb this season. Have you seen what they’re doing? Just watched a few YouTube vids of the works. It’s going to be brilliant when it’s done and that alone will help to attract players. The Lord alone knows where they’re getting their money from though. Not only that but Barcelona start work on their own £600m+ stadium refurb soon too.

I think Stones was incredible today, his performance was imperious and one of the best in his City career. I really cannot remember a CB making so many forward runs in a PL game. And defensively he was good when needed. Even when LU were with all eleven he was very good and makings runs forward - and he probably made more successful dribbles in one game than Raz in the last 15. Oleks was also very decent in what was asked of him to do alongside Fern - he definitely can play MF in this City side, he doesn't lose a ball, doesn't crumble under pressure and always try to make a progressive pass. And although as a team we managed to find ourselves in positions to score or create a chance, there were many 'meh' performances when a piece of individual skill was needed to break this LU.
Ake - Mendy combo did not work on any part of the pitch, Cancelo poor, Bernardo non effective, Jesus combative, but nothing to go for in that front three, Ferran non-existent and Raz was shockingly poor, that was like the worst City game of his career. he was just atrocious today.
This loss today eclipses that collapse in 3:2 loss to Wolves, just mind numbing.
Good post - loved those runs by Stones today, thought he was excellent.

Exactly where's the money coming from? Unless this covid shit is sorted soon you could have a huge stadium but without fan's it will make no money.

This shit seems to be the latest fad now. They need to start making examples of a few.

Barcelona's needs it what a dump.

Posters who are saying Pep was right in resting players or not bringing KDB on bcoz he could get injured before a big game, I have a question :

Will same argument be made when he face Villa away next week? Should we rest players bcoz we have league Cup final coming up next weekend or this argument won't be relevant then? Or is it that we can rest players lose even if that means our lead potentially remains 5 points!?
If we get through against Dortmund, you can pretty much assume he won’t play his strongest side in the cup final against Spurs as it is 3 days before the CL semi final first leg.
