Exactly this. We have earned the luxury to be able to prepare for these fixtures and gained the advantage it brings.

On the other hand I can't see Kev not kicking up quite a stink with him — privately, obviously — about being left out of a cup final at Wembley. Players live for these occasions. He will hugely want to play in both. I think he will, too.

Lots would have complained if we put out a full strength side and won....preferring instead to rest up for Wednesday in the CL.

It's mad, it's why although I totally understand the rotation and it's got us this far, I don't believe we can pick and choose games now in the run in. Today it cost us and with the rags having a tough game on paper tomorrow we could have stretched our lead meaning we could have rested key players from here in. If the rags win tomorrow although we have a decent lead it might just sow a bit of doubt.
