did it work ?
Careful Bill we have a sensitive one here, remember mate you only say positive stuff about city on here nothing negative. Its the reason I stopped coming on here
did it work ?
Probably a good job that the rags winning both is unlikelyRags win their two games in hand our bottle will go
I have to question my sanity reading this thread. The levels of overreaction and utter nonsense make it a waste of time trying to find sensible points.
Today wasn't good and typical of many of our losing performances: total domination, lots of shots and concede from the only two shots our opponent has.
What annoys me most is conceding so easily in added time: you have to make sure you don't lose at that stage and accept that a win is a bonus if you can work another opening.
Yes that is a big concern in the games that really matter. Our record when we fall behind is not good and that is when you need someone to pop up. Gundog has covered this up to a certain extent and hopefully he has a few more important goals in him. Hard to know if this poor performance will be a good or a bad thing ultimately as we head into a crucial period.we have absolutely nothing up top, that will come back to hit us hard at the business end of the season
It would be interesting to see which of our players have had the most shots in that lot.Our 4 losses in the league: (city stat first)
Leicester
Shots 16/7
On Target 5/7
Spurs
Shots 22/5
On Target 5/2
Scum
Shots 23/8
On Target 6/6
Leeds
Shots 29/2
On Target 7/2
Total shots 90/22
On Target 23/17
Goals. 3/11
Damning...1 goal every 30 shots in those 4 losses v 1 in 2 against!
Last season we had no chance of winning the league after the restart but reached an FA Cup semi final.
We had plenty rest also for the Lyon game and still ended up going out.
Rotation is certainly welcome but not to the extent where you take it for granted that your rested players win you games as a matter of course.
He wasn’t great last season mate either and I have always gave him the benefit of the doubt but now I can’t . Not bothered that we got beat as Leeds are one of the top teams in the league but I’m more alarmed that we lacked biteI just believe Sterling, due to his consistent top level performances, is allowed an off season.
If he doesn't get back to his electric best next season then there are some serious issues.
Sterling's poor form is far stronger than Gundo's, Stones' or even Mahrez's worst seasons.
There's picking the right time to do it. Dallas had a defender alongside him and if Eddie had been 6 or 7 yards nearer his line he would not have scoredIf he didn't rush out we would have already been 2-1 down when Rafinha went clear through on goal tbf
Exactly!! For me you get the league fucking won first. Losing today just means we're now in a dilemma come the next league game as if the rags win tomorrow we'll have to go strong anyway. If we'd won today and they lost tomorrow then it eases the pressure on our next league game. As I said in an earlier post the rags losing eases today's shambles of a result, but hopefully it's a wake up call. After making all the changes to save the key players, lets hope that this shit performance fires them up for the game against Dortmund otherwise it will have been a total fucking waste as a strategy.
My point is we are generally running the game yet we are relying on our centre back to try and score leaving big gaps. It’s insane that in the last few minutes stones is in their box when all they have is counter attacks. We bring Kev on 15 mins to go & let stones sit deep we probably win. We would certainly not lose it.I don't get how he can blame the defensive unit. It was an individual mistake for the first goal, the 2nd was a counter whilst we were pushing.
52 shots in 2 PL games with 1 goal against Leeds ain't the fucking defence.
Not the biggest Garcia fan but he was the replacement for Ake.Pep Guardiola: "When we defend in that way, we cannot let them [Leeds] run. We let them run
You put dinho back there ffs
We've lost three times at home this season (so far), compared to just once on the road. When you’re going for all 4 trophies in the space of less than 2 months though.
Tbh, I actually think playing at home is another issue. Our best performances have been mostly away as with most sides. I think we’ll play better away to Dortmund than we did in the home leg. Hopefully that’ll be enough for us to go through.
Harsh on Torres... needs to be given time... wasn’t great today (goal aside) but young lad, new country and in lockdown - give him a chance yeti got stick on here for saying sterling mendy jesus would not turn up and not give 100% today for missing out on starting champions league game midweek but the whole team besides stones was shocking
this result was coming for weeks and its the lack of goals or striker. am praying in the summer for haaland
but the truth is we need 2 strikers not just haaland. sterling is finished at city. jesus is not a striker. torres is not suited to premier league football
the media rave about this city squad. but the truth is they who don't play kick the dummy out of the pram when they are picked in meaningless games in the premier league and cups games. if we keep playing this 2nd string the lead in the league come down fast. utd will keep getting help and dodgy pens and say thank you for the 3 points
pep should be all over the players in the dressing room it was not good enough and you got shown up to a team that played with 10 men for the whole of the 2nd half ? if was pep i would be offering the door to mendy sterling jesus right now and say fuck off and don't come back
forget winning anything other than the premier league just get the title in the bag and then rebuild in the summer
we are not that good a squad people think we are. over paid players are taking up spaces on the bench that youth could be used. there is 3 or 4 good youth players good enough right now for a place in this squad
mendy sterling jesus aguero garcia torres thank you and good bye
At this rate I’d be amazed if he actually signs in the right placeWith sterling negotiating his own contact like Kdb, hopefully he follows suit and goes armed with data analysis on his performance. We'll save a fortune...
Behave ffsRags win their two games in hand our bottle will go
