Leeds (H) | Post Match Thread

Leeds did not need to be that good. We played without any intent or intensity, they were allowed a lot of time on the ball for their counters. And they only needed it 2/3 times. Could have scored the Raphinha chance earlier. It happens when there are several changes and players who are on the bench have to try and do extra to justify a start, struggled with the tempo all game.

I do believe we are good when we are knocked down, because if I've learnt anything from Pep's tenure, is he has a magical way of getting players up and ready again for a response. I'm sure the lads will be gutted and looking to do a solid job at Dortmund.
Well yeah, the lads will, the lads who were watching from the stand that is.

I accept resting KDB, but Dias, especially as La Porte wasn’t fit.

It would have been a stroll today for Dias and Stones. A 90 minute training session if Pep had left Dias in for the full game?

Strange man Bielsa fucking crackers
Leeds are no mugs either and next season they will be very dangerous if they recruit right so in all not the end of the world but players like sterling need to take along look at themselves because he was shit .

As long as Pep doesn't blow to much smoke up Dortmunds arses we should be ok.

Hate when he does that, it inevitably comes back to bite us on the arse.

Should be wrapping the league up ASAP. Ridiculous today. And a red card in for insult to injury...

It was a very poor performance but before the game, I suspect we all would have said that some players needed resting, as suggested in the Dortmund first leg post match thread. No matter how deep your squad, wholesale changes, especially ones incorporating players who have barely featured, is bound to affect your play. We should not have lost that game but some players were very, very poor: Cancelo and Sterling, notably.

No it doesn't, he is gracious about pretty much every opponent whether it is Fulham, Southampton, Brighton or any of the bigger teams.

Meh.

Not happy, but 8 points clear even if Rags win games in hand.

Just one of those days nothing quite goes right.

Still massive favourites for league and in all the cups. Onwards!

Rotation is fine but why would you staff 50 % of the back four with one totally spent player (Mendy) and one rusty newcomer (Ake)? One or other, not both.

That said, we lost primarily because of too many jaded, lacklustre performances. (Plus one or two shit ones.)

Hopefully it won’t affect the overall scheme of things.

Disappointing - but we sacrificed today for Dortmund. That being said still plenty in the side today to beat Leeds.

I just want to wrap up the title soon. I know the odds of us fucking this up are astronomical but I just want it mathematically won or I'll continue to have this lingering doubt in my mind.
