Rico will start.

Info or a hunch?

Yeah he deserves it.

Peps embargoed press conference just got released and the whole thing is about how good Rico is and how him coming into the team showed Stones and Walker how Pep wanted them to play.

He even says he doesn’t think we’d have been successful this season without him.

It definitely sounds like Peps going to play him.

I go with Pep. Players are not tired. They can cope playing twice a week. They are professional and get the best treatment.

Just play the 11 able to control the game and win it. If the scoreline fancy subs Pep will bring on a few. A few rotations might be expected, but I’m pretty sure Rodri will start and not Philips.

Don’t underestimate Leeds and Allerdyce. And It’ll be a certain 3 points.

He also said he doesn’t think Haaland will break Dixie Dean’s record. Tbf he most likely won’t even if he plays every minute but I’m interpreting this as Pep knowing Haaland is getting rested tomorrow! I would understand it if he did. Just to remove all risk of him not being available for Madrid. But even so, I just love watching him and hope he starts.

Even bough I don’t expect rodri to start I’d be shocked if Phillips played tomorrow. Will be gundogan and Bernardo holding as they did against sheff United imo. They both have had a rest (Bernardo v Fulham, gundo West Ham) and rodri would then sit out leeds. Means each one has had one game rest with Bernardo shifting rw against Madrid and kdb in behind haaland.

As an out of towner this will be my first visit to the Etihad in a few years. Is there any free (and safe) parking that's not too far from the ground?
No safe street parking in my opinion.

Try Norton Tyres for £6.

1a Norton Street, Manchester, M40 8HD, England

20 minutes away, not too bad to get away after the game.

I really enjoyed Pep’s answer to the timing of his “happy flowers” comments when he criticised the team. It was mentioned that he said what he said after a victory and would he have said those same things after a defeat? He said no, because after a defeat if you say things like that it sounds like you’re making an excuse, and he doesn’t like to make excuses. He said that if you want to make your feelings known externally, it’s better to say it after a win. Basically, it has more impact. He said internally, he will say it regardless, but the external message depends on the result. God, this guy is a fucking master of this shit.
