Who should we sign at left back?

Gomez came on at '81 for Anderlect. Amuzu at LWB had already bagged a brace,.
 
So it seems we are not after anyone on the list despite most of us here liking raum some even liking more than cucurella.
May be some Dias signing is on the way.

hes ecuatorian, and a very good defender, has a decent cross. Good cumplimentary player to Cancelo and boasts similar stats to Cucurella

The best statistical profile that ive seem that kinda matches the eye test is Lodi, although i dont think his defense is as good as the stats say. Reguilon also outstanding statswise, Borna sosa's defensive numbers make zinchenkos look like Maldini's on the other hand.

The right answer to this thread is Gvardiol btw, he can play as a left back and pretty well at that.

Hes young, a mainstay on his national team , can play as a cb as well and with that name, hes destined to play for our manager.

He wont come cheap but he is only 20 years old, with an huge upside and can spend the rest of his career at manchester.

In June 2021 when we were first linked, he was 23 and just had an OK first season in the PL, he could have been someone who developed late and for £10m when we already had 2 leftbacks it would be a minimal risk punt. In the end they seemed to have not gone for it.

In August 2022 he's 25, didn't back up being in the Premier League with an outstanding season in the Championship, Fulham don't need money and won't want to sell so he'll cost probably 25-30m and our needs have completely changed because we've only got 1 LB option.

Sergio Gomez last year was a very promising Spanish 20 year old youth international who'd not quite hit the ground running after a move to Dortmund, he was a team mate of Torres' and played well in big youth international finals vs. Foden, you can see why we'd be interested. Then he had a breakthrough season at LB under Kompany, has a €15m buyout clause and is still only 21 so there's a reason to go back.

The only LB signing that makes sense is a world class, 1st choice at the position player. We have part time LBs in Aké and Laporte, we have promising kids.

I don't see any 1st choice LBs on the market so I don't see us signing anyone.

Clearly Ait Nouri is better than Cucurella. If you thought Cucurella could've been a top signing, there's no reason why you shouldn't consider Ait Nouri in the same bracket

We did ok but we looked far from great.

Cancelo was his usual mixed bag.....we still need a proper no nonsense left back for the rare games where we are on the back foot.

Not that we should go for him, but Leicester are skint I think. No money for new players.
