Leicester City (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

On a side note how many players in our team have the mental presence/confidence to do what Haaland did there......very few...rodri would...Dias would...but i think that is about it...
That brought an emotional reaction from me. Pep and Erling were great there.
I used to love it at the away matches when the team and the manager came over to the away fans cheering them on. Great days. Great memories.

Foden looks mentally burnt out. Maybe he needs a proper holiday or something.
Mate when professional footballers have been right to the top and their standards drop they do get mentally frustrated same in any sport - Fodens disappointment is understandable - I would be more concerned if he was just not bothered when he was subbed off

To Gary Neville and the miseries on here. Yes we know we have no energy off the ball and we’re vulnerable. But that win was very very important to this team and its belief.
It’s not through a lack of effort that we’ve been on this poor run. In fact the opposite. Well done blues, well done away fans. Enjoy tonight all.

Great to see out the game and keep a clean sheet. We were far from good though, with some poor individual performances.

2 well worked goals was a pleasure to see.

At fucking last James McAtee got a run out and did well. He made the 2nd goal, looked sharp and he’s in good shape. Should get a chance now. I’m delighted for him and it’s another option.

A few days rest now to recover and regroup for West Ham.
Exactly why we’ve been calling for some fresh legs. Not wholesale changes but play a mcatee or a wright or oreilly for some of the game. Especially second half.

McAtee makes a difference who’d have thought it! Horrible watch but I’ll take the 3 points, we ain’t going down I guarantee it :)

Fucking brilliant win, the kind we needed to escape this blip. Scruffy, hard but a win.

On Pep for making the sub for McAtee, which was met in the shit hole match thread that he only did it to put him in the window. The kid changed the game - Pep’s sub that is.

Lewis tough as fuck, Kovacic everywhere and Savinho’s best game so far.

There are some ‘fans’ on that match day thread who should either fuck off or just go and watch another sport, because when they are pissing and moaning and Gary fucking Neville actually talks sense about why this blip has happened, well it shows they know fuck all. The miserable cunts are seriously out in force on match day

Get the fuck in City. I fucking love you.
I know we all get frustrated but some of the posts in the match threads lately have been fucking outrageous

A win was all that mattered today, preferably with a clean sheet and we ticked both boxes.

Something to work on, transfer window opening and players coming back.

League is done but we still have a top 4, FA Cup and CL to go all out for. Loads left to play for.

He didn’t look bothered tbh. That’s part of the problem.

If we could just get the defending more solid then having less of the possession probably suits us. Kev and haaland were extremely wasteful on the ball granted - but at least we looked way more of a threat and haaland was miles less isolated with spaces popping up all over.

Whether pep will be able to sacrifice possession is another thing - Rodri is probably responsible for 10% of it on his own and we dont have him this season.

Ceding possession to play on the counter can be effective (eg against Arsenal last year) but we need a compact midfield & better pressing for it to be effective. You can't do it as a strategy while giving up great chances
