Leicester City (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I’ve been saying this for awhile, but no-one seems to know anything?!
It’s bloody weird, I guess we have all been there when we can’t concentrate on work because something else is going on, I know have. Phil seems completely tuned out.

It just shows what a difference a little luck can make….not conceding to the oppositions first attack or shot on goal as we have done on so many occasions this season.

A long way from being a perfect performance and we did look vulnerable up until we got the second however let’s take the positives.

Savio looked a player today and Kovacic and Bernardo gave us a little more energy in the middle plus Haaland had his best game for a month but for me McAtee changed the game for City when he came on, slowing the tempo when required and great movement to help set up the second goal.

I just hope now that Pep starts to trust McAtee more and doesn’t just stick him out wide…..he can do the job that an out of form Gundogan isn’t doing at the moment or even instead of De Bruyne or Foden.

We were never going to going to transition back to our previous high levels in just one game but this will certainly do the confidence no harm.

It seems as though we are going to be busy In January in the transfer market to give the squad that much required energy and maybe creativity….so I think we are allowed some optimism that we’ve hit rock bottom and the only way is up.
Macatee deserves 60 minutes. As for Foden, He needs to catch a wake up.
He didn't put a foot wrong today, and my feeling until he came on, was that we'd end up losing eventually, as they were all over us, but he changed the game, because he's not been part of this shit run, he had confidence in his ability, and took the ball to drive towards the winning goal.

Did a lot of other stuff that can be applauded, like the defensive work that Phil couldn't be arsed, or is too knackered to do.
Ain't that the truth.

Not sure we’ve turned the corner. More like we’ve got a little confidence boost which may just lead to us starting to turn the corner

All that was different today was that we took our chances and we had good luck instead of the usual bad luck

On another day they could have scored 4 or 5

But it’s a great feeling to get home from a match and not be in a shitty mood and our away fans were just superb as usual

We weren’t perfect today or at the levels we have seen previously but today and Everton were both steps in the right direction.

Savinho has stepped up these last two matches, we have kept a clean sheet, Haaland looked a lot more determined today and our fans were fantastic.

Nothing is going to change over night, the same problems exist but today was a good day.

He was involved in the build up to Haaland's goal but I thought he was a passenger for much of the game and I'd go so far as to say that he is a major part of our weakness out of possession.

I would be tempted to start Mcatee in KDB's role.
He was involved in both goals and also set Haaland up for that shot before we scored, he is too important currently. If he should start for anyone, it’s Foden.
They were pretty much hammering us until the sub was made, we'd have lost had it not been made, hadn't had a single touch in their box in the second half before the sub.
The second half was absolutely woeful, not for the first time in recent weeks, until the sub was made.
