Leicester City (A) | Post Match Thread

I know there were issues and people won’t have enjoyed that but I did. Imagine all the fuckers wishing for City to lose only to be disappointed and not only so but by 1 goal. Ha

Next week (champions league), if possible, Pep should play Lewis, Palmer (if fit), Alvarez, Mahrez, Oscar Bobb, JWB. Rodri needs a rest. The lads in general are looking spent.
Not a great performance and hanging on a bit at the end. Can’t understand why we handed over control to them in the last 20 minutes when we’d been so dominant.
Still a good three points

Grealish plays sensibly and intelligently but because he is supposed to be a flair player, he gets stick. He was good, again, today. Some of those free kicks he wins are because he is clever with the ball and moves it away from opponents at just the right moment.
Grealish was excellent today. Constantly trying to attack them. Held it up when he needed to as well. KDB, Stones & Eddy also had excellent games. A hard game won against a 100% totally defensive team. Alvarez needs time to adjust and improve his touch.

did we create a single ‘chance’ in open play during the entire game?
Alvarez had a half chance, produced an ok save, given offside but he wasn't, certainly would have counted - seen him bury those on his showreel.
Then, trying to invoke the spirit of the title-winning villa game, Rodders pulls one just wide when there was more space than for his glorious 2-2 equaliser and, toward the end, Kev and Gundo try to recreate the stunning third at the back post, but realised that had to remain in the once-in-a-lifetime category, so didn't bother scoring as we were already 1-0 up.
Some very lenient reffing decisions today - even Kev should have had a cert yellow but Leicester should have picked up plenty, incl a follow up on Kev when he was subsequently taken out right in front of the technical areas, and Vardy didn't get a card despite shouting at the ref and clearly giving him the 'V's after a decision correctly went our way.
How the hell was that a Leicester free kick when Barnes cleaned out Dias in the motion of clearing the ball? Dangerous position, as was the one shortly after when Gundo protected the ball, got charged by (some home player?) and peep-peep, free kick to Leicester - I thought the ghost of Elleray had suddenly swirled around the KingPower!
But well done City, super free kick, super save and, as many have already mentioned, absolutely top class away support!

Alvarez’s was a great change and really good save by their keeper. The flag went up but he was onside and that would have counted if he’d scored.

why do we think akanji went off? we flapped about at the bavk after he went off.

gundogan i was also frustrated with and our general lack of intent to score a second once they opened up

Yes

We won.
Brenda went totally "anti-football", but we found a special finish to win it.
We're sat in a nice position, we have 2 very winnable home PL games before the WC break (Oh how I hate those words!!!!) and hopefully Erling will be ready for the resumption.
Realise it's not going to happen, but rest as many as we can Wed and all is good with the World
