Leicester City v City post match.

People on here trust in Pep but the results are suggesting he may not be as great as people like to think. The question should be why it's only taken Conti 15 games to have a team that were shite last season playing really well. We played well last week but lost not a good sign. Remember Conti has hardly signed anyone.

Not great today admittedly, but he needs time. Thought the interview was interesting post match. He clearly knows he's been left with a lot of deadwood. He doesn't look worried to me I think he knows he will get it right. The one person who is getting off lightly tonight is Txixi. His purchases have been in the main terrible. Now Pep just didn't rock up here on day one of the season we knew he was coming for a while. So why wasn't Txixi preparing for this buying players who would fit Pep's system? For me the blame for the past few seasons lay at Txixi's door in my opinion. i don't subscribe to he will walk, he was already talking beyond three years. I reckon he knows with the players we have this is going to take time to fix. I see him extending his contract and laying down the foundations for years to come. Lets see how the season turns out before condemning him after 5 months. I am afraid we are going to have to be patient but I have confidence he will turn it around, and when we do it will have been worth waiting for. Players from Munich and barca have said it takes time to understand his methods. Let's hope we get back on track against Watford. Understand the frustration as I have lost count of the years that a bad result ruins your weekend.

Result!!

100% awful tonight and Pep's showing unbelievable blinded arrogance at the moment

The annoying thing is it's another wasted year, why do we need to keep spunking hundreds of millions of pounds to stay at the same level, if we don't win the league this year which we won't that's 3 years of failure, I think pep is a very good manager and we will get there but I'm not sure it will have been worth it.

I would prefer to call it a lack of suitable transition but clearly some of the players that have been with us for a while are no longer suitable anymore and some of the more recent signings either are not suited to the premier league in the way we would like or just not good enough full stop.

I am not sure why some supporters thought under Pep we would take the premier league by storm knowing the ageing squad we have and the fact that some of the players bought in without any premiership experience would struggle to adapt for sometime again some of which unfortunately won't adapt at all.

Some of that blame lies at scouts and people at the club who head hunt these players and if they keep getting it wrong too often then they have to be replaced by better personnel in these areas.

I genuinely do not have a clue why anything less than being successful this year is acceptable.

This squad has its deficiencies but I would still not swap it for any other. I have blamed Txiki for past seasons but as confirmed by Gabriel Jesus (the phonecall) Pep was completely privvy to any transfer business this summer and we did not properly strengthen in the areas we required.

Its crazy we walked into the season with three centre halfs, including one who has not played regularly for years and a player who due to numerous mistakes could not get in the Everton team. Compare that to the number of wide players/attacking midfielders we have. Its a complete imbalance.

I agree if we don't win something this year and arent in the fight for the league till the death it's a failure

Pep says he doesn't want his players to get tackles in,he is not interested and they don't do it in training, wtf,so players are always going to just walk through our defence and except for nico we will jist let them, god give me strength

He's basically saying he expects them to win 'duels', but basically his game is about possession and not a physical tough game. Think it was just the way he expressed it. The longer you keep the ball the less tackles you need to make.

Agree, but as we all love our club sometimes it hurts.
Course it hurts I was fucking fuming watching that shit but I know we are on the right path, the fact we didnt panic buy in the summer, when we didnt get leporte shows me we finally have a plan on recruiting players, I genuinely believe pep knows the players he wants out, all of them on their last year for a start, and maybe a few others that are just not good enough for how he wants us to play. If any of them end up with a new contract and he doesnt ship out the players who just dont have the technical ability in the summer I might start to worry. This isn't peps fault its been years of
shit recruitment.
