Leicester (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

It was a a bit of a weird game. It was so one sided in the first half that it got boring, as it wasn't a contest. We scored 2 excellent goals as well as the pen.

Second half we maybe hooked too many key players a bit too early and it could have bit us on the arse.

Happy overall that we got the points and rested key players.

Got the game won. Made loads of changes. Maybe one change too many. Main thing is the three points and Haaland, Stones, Rodri, Grealish, and De Bruyne all getting rest.

Ederson 8; Walker 6; Stones 8; Dias 7; Laporte 6; Rodri 7; De Bruyne 8; Bernardo 7; Mahrez 7; Haaland 9; Grealish 7

Alvarez 6; Akanji 6; Phillips 4; Gomez 5; Palmer 7
You'd seriously rate Palmer and Mahrez on the same level as Grealish, Rodri and Bernardo and better than Walker? I thought Mahrez was the poorest of our starters and Palmer was also pretty ineffective.

I had to turn off at half time
Saw a dominant 45 mins and am oblivious to what came after. But even losing the half 1-0 is no problem when youre managing a 3-0 lead with a huge midweek away
So yeah didnt see the second half so am not emotional about it but fuck, calm down

Clinical and efficient performance, just what you need before a big match midweek. It would be nice to see Debruyne break the assist record this season, no one deserves it more than possibly the most consistent and deadly playmaker in PL history

Three of the five subs rarely play, and were replacing players widely considered some of the (if not the) best in the world in their position.

There’s going to be a disruption to our rhythm and chemistry, especially when you bring on two others generally at the same time (nearly half the team changed in a short time). It’s unavoidable if you want to rest/protect players.

We’re never going to have the two best players in the world for every position, even if we had infinite money. It’s not possible for many reasons, but the biggest is that they would never come to us to be rotated.
Add in the Premier League is by far the most demanding League in the world. At the start of this stupid, World Cup disrupted season, who would have had Brighton (who lost their manager), Fulham and Brentford as high as they are? A shit Manchester United are third whilst Liverpool and Chelsea fell off a cliff. What I’m driving at is that this league is very unpredictable and the gimme games are hard to predict and few and far between making it harder to integrate players.

The game was over at half time and a drastically weakened second half team who haven’t played together struggled (a bit) against a team fighting for its life. Quelle Surprise. Job done. Nothing to see here. Move on.
