Leicester (N) - Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

It's going to be like last season with the first dozen games being our pre season. Would not surprise me, or concern me, if we are off the pace a bit up until Christmas. After that, game on.

From BBC Sport:

Excluding 2019, when Manchester City appeared as Double winners, the FA Cup winners have won the Community Shield in six of the past seven campaigns, with the exception being Manchester City's 2-0 win over Chelsea in 2018.
I think my post was reasonable enough considering what you'd written originally.

Commentator said that he has never seen anyone score under the wall and laughed at player lying down .
How did he managed to get this gig ?

Focussing on defence….

Best i’ve seen from Zak and feel he was our best player.

I groaned when i saw our LB pairing and knew it would be painful one way or another. Mendy OK’ish going foward today, but too often AWOL in defence...as always ! Ake great in the air, but painfully slow on the ground and doesn’t inspire confidence. I have no idea why we bought either, but there goes £90m. How we need to keep Laporte and Zinny!

Not to be outdone by his defensive partners, Cancelo also demonstrated he is a liability in defence, although you could argue that it makes us more balanced i.e. wide open on both flanks! He tried some kind of Rabona tackle in the first half, in the box, which could easily have cost a penalty. Fortunately it was so wide of the mark, the attacker had no opportunity to go down!

Really need to sort that left back problem out!

Utter madness that players like Bernardo, Laporte, Jesus are talked about as possible departures whereas I wouldn't care if Ake, Torres, Cancelo and maybe Rodri were sold for decent fees.

The first 3 can hold their own in any Pep team.
